Saturday, June 7: Medina Grand Circle. A 125-mile round
trip from Medina to Medina. Train will travel through Akron, Hartville,
Navarre, Brewster and Spencer. Due to trip length, not recommended for
children under the age of 11.
- Saturday, July 5: Kent Heritage Festival Shuttle Runs. Short,
family-oriented rides as part of the festivities in Kent’s Town Square.
Trips will leave approximately every 90 minutes during the day; duration of
approximately 25 minutes per trip.
- Saturday, July 26: Glenwillow to Kent “Depot to Depot” Run. Board the
train at Glenwillow Depot and disembark at the former Erie Railroad station
in Kent. Layover for lunch at the Pufferbelly or other area restaurant.
Additional attractions include downtown Kent and the Kent Historical
Society. The train will then return to Glenwillow.
- Sunday, August 10: Falls Junction (Glenwillow) Shuttle Runs. Short
(25-minute) rides out of the Glenwillow Depot. A fun and inexpensive way for
parents and grandparents to take their children on a real train ride.
- Sunday, August 24: Run for Handicapped Children. Special event for
handicapped and disabled children; sponsored by MRPS and the Wheeling & Lake
Erie Railway. No public rides available.
- Sunday, September 21: Erie-Lackawanna Railroad Historical Society. A
charter event only for members of the Society. No public rides available.
- Saturday, October 4: Glenwillow to Kent “Fall Foliage” Tour. An encore
trip of the July 26, excursion between Glenwillow and Kent – but with the
opportunity to see the fall colors of Ohio. Train will depart Glenwillow
with a layover for lunch/site seeing in Kent, then return to Glenwillow.
