Several times every year, MRPS opens the site of its historic B&O Roundhouse for public open houses. This is part of our mandate to provide education about railroading, and to show people our plans to restore the roundhouse and our various pieces of vintage rolling stock.
You’ll take a guided tour where you will visit several buildings and go inside restored vintage railroad cars. You’ll hear about the history of railroading in Cleveland, of the roundhouse, and of various pieces of our restored railroad equipment; learn about railroad safety; and find out how some train systems work. And, equipment and weather permitting, you’ll take a short ride on one of our restored Pullman coaches.
Directions and a map to our site can be found by clicking on the “Roundhouse” link on the left.
All Open Houses are from 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm, and are held rain or shine. Please be sure to wear weather-appropriate clothing and closed-toe shoes, as the site is still in rough condition. Refreshments are available.
Because some of these dates are still subject to being changed, please check back here periodically. We'll have details for the next confirmed open house date available in the link below.
For more details about our next Open House, click here. This is a 1-page flyer that you can easily print (Feel free to pass it along to others...)
We look forward to seeing you at the Roundhouse this year!
