Midwest Railway Preservation Society is proud to announce that we have added Thirsty Dog Brewery to our list of sponsors. Details are still in the developement stages, but the sponsorship will greatly benefit the restoration of 4070. All money raised through the sponsorship will go directly into the 4070 Restoration Fund.
Midwest Trustees, Steve Korpos, Steve Emling and Ken Yandek met with John Najeway of Thirsty Dog Brewery in July to begin discussions which could include the Akron based brewery hosting a couple of events either at the brewery or at the roundhouse that would benefit our work on the locomotive. MRPS offered the original side panels of the cab, recently removed, bearing the 4070 numbers for displays at the brewery that could include other memorabilia such as photographs and donation boxes. This is an exciting development that besides enhancing our fund raising capabilities can also increase public awareness in regards to our restoration efforts.
Thirst Dog joins our growing list of sponsors that include Lincoln Electric who donates plasma cutting services, The Berea Depot Restaurant who donates one dollar per meal served during the third weekend of every month and Wall Street Recycling who donates parts and materials.
